Popped in for some evening meal. Absolutely wonderful. Lovely staff, great atmosphere, old authentic and real. The food was gorgeous, I had the 8oz steak , which melted in my mouth. Compliments to the chef. If you're passing by, definitely pop in.

I had the pleasure of spending two nights in this lovely and unique hotel this week. You can feel the history and character in every part of the building and this creates a real experience like no other. The food was all of extremely high quality with a home cooked feel. However even aside from the unbelievable building and setting, what really sets this apart is the staff. Across both days at the hotel, every single member of staff I interacted with from reception to bar and restaurant was so friendly, chatty and all genuinely care about the customer. You should all be really proud of yourselves, I can't wait to return

First time visiting Cornwall and this makes a great base. Staff were so friendly, food was great. A nice little shop and bar area provided everything you would want. Will have no hesitation in revisiting when i want to explore the area further.

Lovely old inn. We didn't see any ghosts but wasn't worried about them either as the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. They staff were great and the rooms in the new part where we stayed were very spacious. The view from our room was towards Brown Willy and even though the A road is close by you couldn't hear it at all. Food in the restaurant was a good value and great quality and the breakfast was freshly put out. We will definitely stay again.

Fantastic food and very reasonably priced. Food was hot and delicious. Smallish lunch menu but it was perfect for a lunch stop. Add to it the history and being made famous by the book and you have a great location. Wheelchair accessible via ramps which the dragging were more than happy to help with.

Always love coming here on my way down south. Was here yesterday in the early hours for work and the staff was very kind to allow me to have some Breakfast abit early as they weren't open for breakfast yet. Great, welcoming and very kind staff, with some decent paranormal stories if you are into that stuff, as the place is known to be haunted. Definitely worth the visit on the way past if heading Cornwall way especially in the summer. I will be back again soon I have slept here once, it was amazing the food is fantastic especially after a long trip

Absolutely lovely service. Booked a birthday meal here and arrived to balloons set up at the table and warm wishes from all the staff! How lovely. Even more amazingly on presentation of your ID you get your main and dessert on the house, which was a wonderful surprise. Food was amazing, I had the burger and chocolate fondant and it was gorgeous. We will definitely come back and recommend.
